5.0 star star star star starDr Volpe's extensive amount of experience was the reason I chose him. He was also extremely accommodative to the questions asked of him and his care team by my parents, who have a large amount of OCD tendencies

5.0 star star star star starPlease see above. Surgeons across the country and the world practice strabismus treatment, but patients report widely varying experiences. It's a confusing, frightening world of options for parents to navigate for their children, as it is for adults whose surgeries have outlived their usefulness and must be repeated, if they can be. Dr. Volpe's track record inspires a confidence that patients need in order to undertake a surgery of this kind.

5.0 star star star star starI came to Dr. Volpe because a previous surgery and one of my eyes was unsuccessful. He saw the issue right away, suggested that a second surgery could be successful. His expertise and skill lead to the best outcome after the second surgery. I found him to be engaged not only with me as a person, but also with the surgical challenge. I felt taken care of and helped. I came into my second opinion appointment with him very worried that I would be dealing with the results of the first surgery for the rest of my life. He fixed it.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
