In partnership with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), McHenry Hospital created the McHenry Western Lake County EMS System in 1975. As the resource hospital for this two-county EMS system, Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital has administrative responsibilities for the pre-hospital patient care provided throughout our service area. Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital, Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital and Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital are associate hospitals.
