24-Hour On-Site Inpatient Pediatric Expertise

Neonatologists, intensivists and hospitalists provide around-the-clock services in the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and general pediatric inpatient units at Central DuPage Hospital. Private rooms, playrooms and procedure suites give families a child-friendly place to heal.

For infants who are premature, have a low birth weight or must be on mechanical ventilators, the state-of-the-art Level II-E Special Care Nursery at Delnor Hospital has seven beds with Lurie Children’s neonatologists and/or neonatal nurse practitioners providing 24-hour care.

Central DuPage Hospital Pediatric Emergency Department

Board-certified pediatric emergency medicine specialists and compassionate, experienced nurses provide care in a child-focused environment. These experts have access to state-of-the-art technology and equipment specifically designed for children as well as pediatric services, such as medical imaging, through Lurie Children’s.

If a child needs emergency medical attention outside of Pediatric Emergency Department hours, families can expect dedicated, compassionate care in the general Central DuPage Hospital Emergency Department or Delnor Hospital Emergency Department.

Pediatric Medical Imaging

All pediatric imaging at Central DuPage Hospital and Delnor Hospital is directed and interpreted by pediatric radiologists from Lurie Children’s. To review images and conduct studies requiring the services of a radiologist, a Lurie Children’s radiologist is on-site at Central DuPage Hospital from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
