Symptom Checker

The CDH Pediatric Emergency Department is IDPH Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP) and is designated by the State of Illinois as a Level II Trauma Center. Located through the main CDH Emergency Department entrance, the CDH Pediatric Emergency Department is open from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. every day. The Central DuPage Hospital (CDH) Pediatric Emergency Department annually provides a comprehensive range of emergency pediatric care service to more than 18,000 babies, young children and teens (up to age 19).

The CDH Pediatric Emergency Department offers care for children through a multidisciplinary team approach. You’ll find medical professionals who understand the benefit of coordinated emergency medicine—from the nurses who know just the right words to comfort your child to the skilled emergency medicine care team* that includes:

  • Lurie Children's specialists, board-certified in pediatric emergency medicine and pediatrics
  • Additional Lurie Children's pediatric specialists including general surgeons, neurologists, cardiologists, radiologists, hematologists/oncologists, pulmonologists and others as needed
  • Patient care technicians
  • Respiratory therapists
  • Registered nurses with advanced education and certification in critical care
  • Radiology technicians
  • Child life specialists
  • Social workers
