Gallbladder Cancer Treatments
Northwestern Medicine provides patients with multiple treatment options for gallbladder cancer, including:
- Surgery: Surgery may be used to remove the tumor(s) from the gallbladder or to remove portions or all of the gallbladder and/or other affected organs.
- Radiation therapy: Radiation therapy uses targeted radioactive waves to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors.
- Chemotherapy: Chemotherapy is medication that is administered intravenously or orally to kill cancer cells.
Gallbladder cancer may be treated with a single treatment or a combination of these therapies.
