We’ve designed our executive physical for your demanding schedule. Preparing for your annual exam involves four simple steps.

Pre-visit Physician Consultation

Discuss your healthcare needs and concerns during a pre-visit telephone consultation with your Northwestern Medicine Executive Health physician. Together, you will collaborate on what should be included in your examination. If your physician would like to review your medical records, we obtain those on your behalf.

Prepare for Your Appointment

We will send you a customized itinerary and preparation instructions one week before your appointment.

Medical Services and Health Assessment Inclusions

  • Pre-appointment phone consultation: An Executive Health physician will help identify your goals and needs to tailor the day of care.
  • One hour exam and labs: We will talk about your personal and family medical history and any concerns you may have. We will also conduct a physical examination, expanded panel of blood work and urine tests.
  • In-depth testing: This will include an electrocardiogram, audio booth hearing test, stress test, and a body composition test to measure body fat percentage.
  • Wellness consultations: You’ll have consultations with an exercise physiologist and a registered dietitian.
  • Physician debrief and same-day test results review: At the end of your appointment, you'll debrief with a physician and review the results of your tests together.
  • Specialist consultations and diagnostic tests: You’ll be able to customize your day by selecting up to three specialist consultations and diagnostic tests.

Building on the in-depth understanding of your health from your annual executive physical, our Executive Health Concierge Medicine program gives you around-the-clock access to your Executive Health physician.

  • To enroll in the Executive Health Concierge Medicine program, you must first complete an Executive Health physical.
  • You must complete an Executive Health physical every year to stay in the program.
  • The Executive Health Concierge Medicine program is also separate from the Concierge Medicine program at Northwestern Medicine.

Our patients value the opportunity to extend the relationship they develop with their Northwestern Medicine Executive Health physician to ongoing, immediate access for trusted and compassionate care.

As a patient in the Executive Health Concierge Medicine program, you receive 24/7 access to your Executive Health physician and same-day or next-business-day visits for urgent concerns. Your Executive Health physician will coordinate all your specialty care if needed. They can also perform specialized research about your care and provide you with personalized feedback about your health.

Wellness services

  • Two resting metabolic rate tests per year to determine how many calories you burn each day
  • Two body composition tests per year to measure body fat versus lean mass
  • Two consultations with an exercise physiologist to discuss exercise concerns and strategies to build exercise into your everyday life
  • Two consultations with a registered dietitian to improve your nutrition and support a healthy lifestyle
  • Unlimited phone and email support with the registered dietitian and exercise physiologist for one year after your executive physical
