Speech therapy

The Northwestern Medicine  team includes licensed speech therapists, who are skilled in helping stroke patients relearn communication through individualized treatment plans.

Northwestern Medicine Aphasia Center at Marianjoy

The Northwestern Medicine Aphasia Center at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital is designed for people experiencing aphasia who would like to improve their communication skills and connect with other people who have aphasia. With options for individual, group or intensive aphasia services, the center offers specialized programs to meet the unique communication needs of people with aphasia.

Michelle Armour, MS, CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist, program manager and the center’s founder. She specializes in stroke rehabilitation, has a specific interest in neurogenic communication disorders and leads the team of speech-language pathologists who work with patients with aphasia.
