Early diagnosis and expert care of NMOSD can reduce the chance of lasting damage. The Northwestern Medicine Multiple Sclerosis and Clinical Neuroimmunology Program provides testing, treatment and long-term care for people with NMOSD.

Your care team may include neurologists, eye doctors, imaging experts and rehabilitation therapists. Testing may include an exam, MRI scans, blood tests for AQP4 and MOG antibodies, eye tests and sometimes a spinal tap.

The team can treat attacks, help prevent future attacks and support recovery.
