Simple and Complex Fractures of the Hand

Fractures can occur to any bone of the body as a result of trauma. A break to the bone that does not damage surrounding tissue or tear through the skin is known as a closed fracture. A fracture that does damage the skin is known a compound fracture and is generally more serious.
