5.0 star star star star starDr Karas is very approachable and listens to her patients ideas. I worked with Dr Karas to implement my insulin pump solution. We talked about both the negatives/positives of utilizing an insulin pump. Today, my A1c is 5.7! Couldn't of done it without her guidance.

5.0 star star star star starDr Kara’s is always reassuring and encouraging. Answers any questions I have clearly and without judgement. Truly a kind and caring doctor with a great knowledge base. I would pay out of pocket to stay with her if my insurance were to change and not cover her.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Karas is a very caring, kind, knowledgeable doctor. You can tell she truly cares about her patients and their needs. She takes the time to explain the health care that she provides and answers your questions without making you feel rushed. I wish all doctors were as caring and compassionate as she is!

5.0 star star star star starShe is compassionate and very knowledgeable . I feel like I am part of the decision making in my treatment. She tells me things about my condition and treatment that I was not told by prior Dr. I trust her, and am glad I found her and her team to treat me.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderHas not ever been very open to any of my concerns, very hard to work with. Rather then being willing to work with me and my team of medical providers to develop a well thought plan to address any of my care she comes across annoyed and judgmental when I ask questions or try to develop a plan that not only works best for me but that I have a clear understanding of from a professional medical perspective that I would look to her to provide.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
