There are only a handful of hospitals across the country that can perform the type of procedure that I had done at NW. Doctor Schimmel is an extremely talented surgeon that keeps you and your loved ones informed before, during, and after the surgeries he performed.

He is so obviously passionate about the work he does and he cares very much for the well-being of the patient that he treats. His skills as a surgeon are so remarkable, and I feel completely safe under his care. Most of all he is a good listener and a very interesting and informative communicator. I never leave feeling unsure of what to do next or what will be best for me. And he also listens to my questions or request, and for example, he helped to set up my pulmonary rehab therapy again, which will help me recover from these procedures.

Dr Schimmel is one of the best doctors I have seen in my 73 years. He was personable, interested in hearing about my health challenges and thoughts, and patiently answered all my questions about my potential treatment. He had thoroughly reviewed my medical records before even coming into the exam room (unusual, in my experience with other physicians).
