5.0 star star star star starI’ve been in the NW system for over 15 years - this doctor is one of the most knowledgeable, PATIENT , courteous doctors I’ve had the pleasure of working with - and you have some GREAT doctors in the system.

5.0 star star star star starI was very impressed that he met me for the first time and sat with me for 40 minutes, thoroughly explained what was going on and went over all the options and scenarios for treatments. Extremely informative and reassuring. One of the best physician interactions I have had.

5.0 star star star star starThis was an introductory visit. The doctor was knowledgeable about my medical condition. He gave me his full attention. He clearly answered my questions. He also is willing to help me with refills and several of my cardiac medicine, until I am able to see a regular cardiologist in March. He was attentive, courteous, understandable, and very helpful. I have met several new doctors in the past two months, and I’ve been very impressed

5.0 star star star star starDr. Hawkins C. Gay, was very patience, he listed to my conversation and he did not rush me at all. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. I was very comfortable discussing my health condition. Thank you for being an amazing and caring doctor!

5.0 star star star star starHe answered all my questions after I have been brushed off by my previous doctor for years due to having a relatively benign heart condition. He is the first doctor to treat me like a human while dealing w a problem I believed could kill me; since nobody even bothered to explain to me that the problem comes from my nervous system and not my heart and is actually not that bad

5.0 star star star star starDr. Hawkins Gay is the ONLY cardiology doctor I've ever seen, so my experience is VERY limited. However, I was QUITE impressed with him & liked him and I am CRITICAL of most doctors. He explained things very well & made sure to answer my limited questions. He seems to be an academic type - which I relate to & like. He is interested in what he does & is more about that than rushing someone thru to make a buck, like so many doctors. I have a VERY GOOD impression of him!! But my heart is in good shape, it appears, so I'm not likely to need to see him again anytime soon.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
