5.0 star star star star starProfessional, knowledgeable, provided context, clinical confidence and a holistic approach that considered other factors outside of an ENT perspective. Put a reasonable, sound plan in place, with insights and recommendations that did NOT come from my previous appointment.

3.0 star star star star_border star_borderA thorough exam was not completed. He looked at the throat only. We reported to him and the MA that the baby was tugging on ears. He dismissed it as tonsil related without checking. When this was brought to his attention for a follow up, his response is that he didn’t recall us mentioning an ear problem. This was an ear, nose, and throat office. At minimum, the ears, nose, and throat should be checked. Failure to do so resulted in a separate visit back to the primary care the next day. She did not diagnose a definite ear infection buT had suspension of swimmer’s ear and called the next day proposing an ear antibiotic for treatment. He was however very thorough in describing the rationale for surgery for enlarged tonsils.

5.0 star star star star starBy far the least stressful ear cleaning appointment I have ever been to. Mr. Murphy was (or at least seemed to be) happy to answer all my questions, including the ones that had very little to do with the procedure. He has a great "chairside manner!"

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
