5.0 star star star star starMy appointment with Dr. Cooksey was well worth the wait to get in to see her. She was incredibly thorough and made no assumptions based on any prior treatment for my OSA but rather used the data as a diagnostic tool for improvement moving forward. I appreciated all of her insight and effort she made to troubleshoot any of my concerns. She dispelled some of my misconceptions so that I can manage my expectations moving forward. I give her a resounding 10/10 and look forward to follow-up.

3.0 star star star star_border star_borderShe is very knowledgeable and on the two occasions i saw her she was friendly and courteous. However, the fact that it seems to be near impossible to communicate with her when needs arise causes me to wonder whether she is too busy. i value the relationships i have with my doctors at Northwestern (Drs. Jeff Kopin, Charles Davidson, Steve Hanauer) and elsewhere who are easy to reach, call me after a procedure or any medical issue. i never heard from Dr. Cooksey after my diagnosis of mild sleep apnea. I believe that MyChart was created to relieve physicians of having to communicate with their patients which is my main issue with Dr. Cooksey. All my calls and messages to her have been returned by a nurse or a tech. Again, not what i am used to.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
