At Northwestern Medicine, our patient’s feedback is important to us. While different care providers have their own unique strengths, we strive to be as transparent as possible with our quality of care.
she allows me to be a part of the decision making process when appropriate. She has a very pleasant Dr./patient personality and is extremely knowledgeable. I came to her specifically for a second opinion after a disappointing salivary gland surgery by another otolaryngologist in another county.
Dr. Smith is extremely knowledgeable, professional and friendly. She takes her time to explain in detail everything you need to know and or ask about. This is an exemplary doctor and I would not hesitate to recommend her to others.
She is a great doctor who was really concerned about my hearing problem. First doctor ever to ask for the hearing test to be given to me in Spanish, my dominant language. Of course the results were better in my dominant language. She really did a through examination of my ear, nose, and throat.
The reason why I would recommend dr. Smith cuz she's very concerning about her patients and she worked really hard to help her help me with the solution of what I have I have spelled it and it can be very tiresome at times but she tried to come to the solution to help me with it so I recommend her to everyone that I come in contact with
Dr. Smith always took time to explain what she was seeing and prescribing more effective medicine. On my last visit on March 31st, she confirmed for me that, as I suspected but could not be sure, the thrush was gone. It was a busy day in the ENT unit but she took time to explain in detail the results of my CT Scan. She is a fine physician but also a "people person"
Dr Smith explained exactly what she was doing before and during the cleaning of my ears, telling me what to expect. She was very gentle and listened to my concerns and gave suggestions on what I could do to keep my ears clear of an ear wax buildup.
She listens and asks lots of questions. She is honest regarding my complicatied situation as to possible outcomes after surgery, what types of decisions she will have to make once surgery begins, asks for my input regarding permission for various possibilities, admits when she hasn't seen or done an issue or procedure, explains things in ways I can understand, doesn't make me feel like I'm a time burden even though she has a schedule to keep.
I felt that Dr Smith and her team took me and my symptoms seriously. She clearly answered my questions and explained exactly what she saw. Her suggestions for continued treatment made sense and were helpful. She also gave me the names of specific doctors who specialize in some of my related issues and may offer additional insight.
Dr. Stephanie Smith did superior medical care at my recent December 2020 ENT visit which ensures continued as good hearing as feasible. She performed with great precision and carefulness the removal of impacted cerumen.
Dr. Stephanie Smith's attention to detail, medical expertise and excellent communications skills are superior to others.
She truly listened, looked at the photos I had taken to better see what I was saying, drew a diagram as she was explaining, not knowing I am a visual learner. She took a culture and gave me instructions for a CT scan. We discussed her interventions with both my results and with my cataract ophthalmologist regarding whether she had determined it was an infection that would prevent them from performing cataract surgery. I also never felt "lesser than" as a person, which many younger doctors do. I came away with a plan for the future, as well as knowing I'd find out what the culture shows. I enjoyed my entire first experience.
She based her recommendations off of scientific studies, which I appreciated. I was also appreciated that she and I were able to bond over talking about how hard it is to be raising kids and working during the pandemic.
I liked Dr. Smith. She took the time to answer my questions and explain everything she was doing and recommending to me. I did have some issues when scheduling. The scheduler gave me a difficult time when I was scheduling the appointment and told me Dr. Smith would not be able to see me for my sinus issue. My allergist had to call the office to confirm but I still had a difficult time scheduling the appointment. Beyond this my experience was great.
Because it falls under the umbrella of NW, MyChart, and the ability of all the disciplines of medicine to communicate and have access to all the tests/ medical history, to provide exceptional health care available. As far as Dr Smith is concerned, She gives the time that is necessary based on the medical situation. She also voluntarily copies in other doctors involved in other disciplines so that they all can provide a coordinated approach in solving the medical issue.
Dr. Smith explained the procedure in great detail. She explained the condition for which I was being tested, in a way which I could understand. I was very comfortable when Dr. Smith performed the lip biopsy on me, even though I was very nervous about this procedure. She clearly has experience in this field. I plan to come back if I need further care in this area.
Dr. Smith listens and considers what I say. She asks the follow up questions that help me feel like I am understood. She is clear about the course of action and acts like she wants to see me healthy, not just fix the problem I've come to talk about.
Dr. Smith is great at laying out all the options and details and will listen to everything you're worried about and thinking without pressuring you to hurry up so you can get all your questions answered and have a real discussion so you can get the best help you can.
Exceptionally skilled professional with a level of expertise and insight which I have seldom experienced. Skilled and thoughtful diagnosis for a ongoing issue that others were unable to address. Immediate care with a corrective care plan. Outstanding!
She is kind and knowledgeable- she took the time to listen and understand my history, my concerns and my opinions. She appeared to be an excellent teacher while training her resident ( who was also wonderful). I am confident that she can help me with my ENT issue or help me find someone who can.
I have her a 10 because it seems like she cares about trying to figure out what's wrong with me. Other doctors have up on me sometimes after the first visit. She's giving me information and she also is going to do research on me. I love that
