5.0 star star star star starPer the above --- I felt Dr. Shammo was genuinely interested in my trail of quirky blood results --- and incredibly kind and generous explaining the results and reasons for the bumps. Also, her turn around in interpreting the following up lab results totally exceeded my expectations.

5.0 star star star star starDr Shammo is one of the best Doctor's I have had in my 60+ years. Dr Shammo is incredibly talented and understanding. Dr Shammo is an old school professional who respects, listens, and understands the patient. Dr Shammo then explains her understanding and recommendations on her thoughts and decisions. Dr Shammo has been the only Doctor who explains why specific individual tests needed. She is also extremely kind and personable. I am so blessed to have Dr Shammo as a Doctor

5.0 star star star star starDr. Shammo and her team are always on top of things, and keep me advised whether or not I should come for an infusion, based on the lab work. Dr. Shammo closely follows the lab results and adjusts medication, as needed.

5.0 star star star star starShe is at the top of her field, had one of only a few subspecialties in my condition in the entire country. Previously had to travel to east or west coast. Fast, thorough, gets to the point, explains well.

5.0 star star star star starIn addition to being highly knowledgeable and competent, Dr. Shammo takes the time to thoroughly review my test results and explain my medical condition in terms I understand. She also has what has become a rare skill among medical professionals -- treating me as a human being -- which is truly appreciated.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
