Ratings and Reviews
At Northwestern Medicine, our patient’s feedback is important to us. While different care providers have their own unique strengths, we strive to be as transparent as possible with our quality of care.
Dr. Payne explains thoroughly the reason I have pain and also what options I can have to prolong the need for surgery. He is very caring and doesn't rush you. He always asks if I have any other questions or concerns.
Dr Payne is willing to work with me and come up with a plan of care for my ongoing post op issues instead of just giving me medication. He has created a plan to try to solve my issue. I love this!!This is what I'm looking for in my physicians!!! A solution not just to be medicated. He's took time to listen to my concerns in my visit and did not rush me at all. I felt like he was very willing to care for me and truly wants to help with my issue. Now I know why so many others recommend him and I will be recommending his care to others. Also the staff is very kind and accommodating.
Dr. Payne was professional, kind and courteous. His excellent bedside manner was calming during a scary and stressful time (our 3-year-old son had a traumatic injury to his right hand). We would highly recommend Dr. Payne and the staff at CDH ER!
I was so impressed with the telephone operator trying to help me because i was in so much pain, she forwarded a msg to Daniela in Dr Payne's office and she contact me and worked on facilitating a visit with Dr Payne, she telephoned again and was able to fit me in between surgery and then telephoned again to see if i wanted to see him later but kept the 8:am visit. All went well.
Dr Payne is very thorough and explains everything that will occur post surgery and I feel my results were as good as could be expected. I have complete use of my fingers with no numbness and very little pain after cubical release surgeries. First surgery result is now totally pain free, the second arm is not far behind!
Dr Payne just completed the second of my two elbow surgeries. Both were very successful and he and his staff are always great. He accommodated my wish to have the surgeries three weeks apart instead of six, partly because I recovered so well but he also understood I wanted to be done as quickly as possible.
Dr Payne was wonderful. I understand the hospital's guidelines regarding Covid, but I think that when there's a small child involved, both parents should be allowed in the room. Both for the child's sake and for the parents sake. Our son is seven and was going in for a broken arm and it was frustrating that both parents couldn't sit there. My husband works for the hospital and he doesn't mind wearing a mask and neither do I, I don't really see the harm. Limiting visitors at a normal doctors appointment is reasonable, but for something that is more serious such as surgery on a kid, I think there should be exceptions.
Dr. Payne and his staff have been excellent in supplying me with care I have been given. Dr. Payne explained everything completely and he was open to all my questions. His surgical staff was great too, his preop nurse Rachel kept me at ease before surgery.
He has great bedside manner. Always takes the time to explain things and answers all of my questions. I've had nothing but positive experiences with Dr Payne and his staff. I have already recommended Dr. Payne several times.
Dr Payne gave me excellent care from the first consultation through my decision to have hand surgery. I'm now 2 weeks post surgery and feeling like a new person. If you need hand surgery, see Dr Payne.
Dr. Payne and my therapist Lori, as well as the entire staff were nothing short of amazing. I was welcomed with open arms, my questions were answered thoroughly and the care I received was second to none.
I felt that from beginning of my treatment I was treated respectfully and was being heard by the physician, Dr. Payne about how I was feeling physically and the steps we needed to take to get on the road to recovery after surgery.
Dr Payne was amazing. I took my son to him to address an on going elbow injury. The first doctor wouldn't listen to us, and I kept insisting that there was more going on. Dr Payne listened to us, he spent time with us and after 4 weeks of dealing with pain, my son has a cast and is pain free. I can not express how grateful we are for his help.
From my very first appt, I was impressed & very comfortable with Dr. Payne. He was attentive, compassionate, empathetic & patient. . As a stubborn athlete, personal trainer & competitor, losing almost all ability to use my left arm due to my injury (lateral epicondylitis) proved to be taxing, not only on me physically but also mentally and emotionally. .Each appt, Dr Payne allowed me the time & space to voice and share concerns, fears & hopes as we worked together to design the right treatment plan for my specific needs...100% would refer Dr Payne ..8 weeks post Surgery, I feel great!! .Thank you Dr Payne & team !!
Listened to me explain my symptoms. Quickly came up with a diagnosis. Explained what was happening with my hand. Presented several options to me. We decided to treat with a cortisone shot which was done in the office during the same visit. Symptoms greatly reduced. Very happy with the interactions with and care given by everyone involved.
Very excellent doctor found out my problems with one visit, after which he's taken care of no cartilage in my thumbs on both hands, then carpal tunnel surgery on both hands, along with trigger fingers on both hands as well, talked about recovery time which was right on point.i wouldn't allow anyone else to preform these surgery's.Thank you Dr William Payne, my new nick name for the doctor is Dr no Payne ?üòÇ?ü§£
Dr Payne and the office staff are thorough, friendly and efficient, especially during these strange pandemic times. It also doesn't hurt that my surgery went great. This is my eleventh surgery between hands, knees and elbows with this practice so I'm a bit of an expert opinion! Thanks again Dr Payne. One more surgery to go.
Dr. Payne performed a very complicated surgery on my shattered left elbow and wrist on 1/24/20. I had my final followup appt with him today and we are both pleased. Dr. Payne listens, explains, cares and is open & honest.
Doc was prompt and careful re details. He explained my problem and answered all my questions. In addition he was willing to talk to my wife via Whatsapp and answered all her questions. That made for a happy household. Ha.
Explains everything clearly, so knowledgeable and took great consideration knowing that the patient was 91! Genuinely cares about all aspects including emotional well being. Quintessential physician: extraordinary care, so bright, patient, great explanation, superb bedside manner
