5.0 star star star star starDr. Marks is engaging yet so very professional. He is always prepared for my appointment and clearly reads my file before he walks in the exam room, all of which makes the most of his time and mine. Although he is clearly busy, I never feel hurried as he always takes whatever time is needed to answer my questions and address any new issues.

5.0 star star star star starBecause he is very knowledgeable and there are things other Dr.’s told me not to bother with because they weren’t harmful. Dr. Marks will tell me if something is harmful or not, but if it’s not and I still want it corrected or removed he will take care of it. He cares about how the patient feels.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderSadly, at the 2-3 appointments I have had with him, he never actually examined my skin. From the corner of the exam room he would ask how things were going. Never looked at my skin. This last appointment I had to ask for a gown so I could have him look at my skin and he was surprised at my request. I stated the terrible itching is gone , thankfully! I asked him if I could discontinue photo therapy. He stated that would be ok. So we agreed to stop. I was just disappointed in his response overall. You’d expect a dermatologist would want to examine a patients progress. If I need to come back for photo therapy I will request another doctor.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Marks is a dermatologist super hero. Saving one face at a time. His expertise is incomparable to any doctor in the nation. I trust him like no one else with my face. He respects his patients and makes us happy to come see him. He is simply the best.

3.0 star star star star_border star_borderThe first time doctor did the procedure is careless and the second time he even did not do the procedure himself. Though the nurse was more careful in doing the procedure, she used the laser pen too slow and increased more pains on the skin.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Marks is exceptional at conducting skincare procedures and surgeries. His assistant, Jessica is also very qualified and smart. They are both very nice people. They are very fast; my surgery was over before I knew it. On both occasions that I had in-office surgery they answered my questions, gave easy to understand aftercare instructions and kept the conversation lively to distract me from what might scare me; which it did not; but, how sweet.

3.0 star star star star_border star_borderThis is very difficult to answer. Dr. Marks has mentioned that my previous diagnosis (with another dermatologist not at Northwestern) of skin lupus might be incorrect and that what I presented with when he saw me appeared to be rosacea. I am awaiting the final thoughts on this.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
