He treats me like a human being. He's likable. He explains things clearly. He and his nurse are prompt and efficient. Probably most important, Dr. Onkka inspires confidence. I trust his knowledge of treatment options and their pros and cons.

I feel bad for those who don't have a physician who creates a space of no judgement on my day to day or struggles or complaints (ie he doesn't make one feel like it's not important) and encouragement to their patients like Dr. Onkka does for me.

Dr. Onkka is kind and caring and has an approachable manner in which the patient can feel assured that they are being heard and understood and I found that I came in with symptoms and frustration of my well being and he was able to back up my concerns with testing and expert opinion. Dr. Onkka has the best demeanor. After he introduced himself, he explained what was going to happen during the appointment. After he went through the assessment and exam, he clearly laid out the options of what next steps might be. I felt heard AND I didn't feel as though he was recommending solutions "just because".

When Dr Onkka, met me as an impatient in the hospital. He was well toned, sounded very caring. He asked questions that I did not have to ask. He was patient, he listened to me. I am really lost with words on how comfortable I felt speaking with him. I have a good feel for people, if it's good or bad. I felt extremely relaxed and comfortable with him. I am still seeing him as an outpatient. First visit yesterday, and I felt that same warm caring energy. Thank you so much DR. ONKKA I TRULY APPRECIATE YOU!!
