5.0 star star star star starShe was sincere; listened to & answered every one of my very-worried-husband's questions; drew us a thorough diagram that perfectly explained Thyroid cancer, and the related surgery; did not rush us out of the appointment-really seemed like she was there for us; kind, knowledgeable, competent... so incredibly lucky to have found her!

5.0 star star star star starDr.Elaraj did thyroid surgery on me in 2011 she did an excellent job and she was very thorough and patient in explaining the pre- and post op care to me. While I hope I never have to have another surgery if I do I put my complete trust and care in Dr. Elaraj gifted hands.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Elaraj has been wonderful! I was told I may have thyroid cancer about a year ago, and that my thyroid needed to come out. I came to see Dr. Elaraj with my results. She suggested another biopsy, which showed no cancer. She put me at ease from the first time I talked to her. I had another ultrasound recently for follow up and there has not been any changes. So very happy with my care!

5.0 star star star star starI recently had my first consultation with Dr. Elaraj regarding some concerning findings on my imaging results. From the moment she walked in, Dr. Elaraj exuded confidence and expertise. She took the time to thoroughly explain what she was seeing on the images, breaking down the complex medical jargon into terms I could easily understand. Her suggested course of action - to remove the two masses - made complete sense once she walked me through her thought process. I felt reassured knowing I was in the hands of a doctor who not only knew what she was doing but could clearly articulate why a particular path was the best option. There was a minor misunderstanding about the role of her residents during the procedure, but Dr. Elaraj addressed my concerns head-on and we quickly came to a resolution. Her open communication style and willingness to listen to my questions put my mind at ease. What really impressed me was that Dr. Elaraj's reputation preceded her. I had done my research, consulting with three other top physicians across the country (in New York, California, and Chicago), and they all listed her as one of the top three options in Chicago. That level of recognition from her peers speaks volumes about her skill and standing in the medical community. The entire experience, from the pleasantness of her staff to their punctuality, was top-notch. Even though the reason for my visit was unsettling, I left feeling like I was in good hands and that I had made the right decision in choosing Dr. Elaraj as my doctor. I would highly recommend Dr. Elaraj to anyone seeking a knowledgeable, compassionate, and highly competent physician. Her exceptional bedside manner, clear communication, and obvious dedication to her patients make her a standout in her field.

5.0 star star star star starShe was great! She explained my condition, explained the next course of action and our options. She even drew a diagram of my thyroid and wrote down the information she was giving us for my wife who was grateful to be able to repeat the information to our sons.

5.0 star star star star starDr Elaraj offers the perfect approach for this specialty. She is very knowledgeable and thorough in her discussion of conditions and options for treating them. She takes the time to create and review detailed visit instructions and to compile comprehensive patient notes. She carefully listens, makes me feel that I am being heard and explains complicated medical information so I can understand it--and make informed decisions about my treatment and care. She is the physician/surgeon you want on your care team as you deal with a possible endocrine cancer diagnosis.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
