At Northwestern Medicine, our patient’s feedback is important to us. While different care providers have their own unique strengths, we strive to be as transparent as possible with our quality of care.
My doctors nice, but I'm feeling like I'm not getting the help that I need. I'm never gonna hear again. I'm always in pain! And I'm always sad because I can't hear and I can't go out with family and friends cause I can't hear, so what's the point of going!!! I'm too young to not hear and I'm so tired of dealing with the pain!!!! It's so sad!!!
I had previously been treated by two doctors (otolaryngologists) over the past several years for the very ailment which Dr. Fishman is presently treating me and has been for close to a year now. The prior two doctors II no longer see, besides being incredibly arrogant, apparently indifferent, and so it seemed to me at the time (convincingly) that both were most interested in the treatment that would dispose of my case as quickly as possible, neither offered nor even informed me that there were any alternative treatments other than a procedure (the name of which escapes me at the moment) that would essentially deafen and destroy any practical use of my left ear. As a lifelong accomplished musician that was not an option. Though it is substantially debilitated, my left ear is still very useful and necessary even in its severely diminished capacity. Dr. Fishman gets it. He has a well-honed skill rarely observed in physicians in our day. In my opinion, has perfected the art of \LISTENING\"! and he should be awarded a Black Belt immediately! Too bad there isn't more of a demand for that kind of skill in the medical profession. He'd make a great Sensai!"
Because Dr. Fishman is the most skilled, the most talented, knowledgeable, patient, and down to earth doctor I have ever had the good pleasure of knowing. He's what we today call "A Rock Star" in his field."
Fantastic patient service prior to the appointment (speaking with the nurse and appointment & insurance personnel was wonderful—everyone kind and professional), wonderful service during appointment (appointment started on time and nurse and doctors were prompt and professional)
This was my first visit, and I found it to be a very positive experience. The facility seems top quality, staff very professional and personable, and my physician visit was great. Dr. Fishman was engaging and explained everything fully, and I look forward to working with him in the future.
Dr. Fishman is so efficient with his time, that one could conclude that he lacks empathy. I felt compelled to ask a staff member to affirm his expertise, received the right answer, so choose to focus on the results. So far, so very good. And he was a little more attentive in our second visit...
If Dr. Fishman spent a quality 10 minutes in follow-up visits, id rate him a 10. He always seems as if he has no time. Always. It's disheartening when I have questions, but am not given a moment to ask or recall what they are. I find it best to ask questions through the My Chart App.
He knew what I had, and quickly acted accordingly. It turns out he was 100% correct, which is really all you can ask for.. an incurable disease is random, but he put my mind to ease on options for symptoms.
Dr. Fishman is an outstanding surgeon with excellent bedside manner. He can explain everything to his patients in layman's terms so one has the confidence and the faith to proceed with surgery, when required... Thanks Dr. Fishman for bringing back my hearing to my right ear.
He was very personable and knowledgeable regarding my daughters condition and took time to answer my questions. For the first time since she was diagnosed with SSHL in 2019 I finally feel like I've found a doctor I can trust!
Dr. Fishman was friendly, but very professional. His diagnosis, treatment and follow up were as good as any I've received and better than most. I should know as I have has more than a dozen surgeries in my adult life.
Dr. Fishman is very knowledgeable and he answers questions straight forward. He was able to correct my daughter's eardrum. We were referred to him from another ENT doctor, and we are so thankful to have found him.
