Bio
Dr. Gondi is the Director of Radiation Oncology in the Northwestern Medicine west and far western suburbs where he oversees clinical, research and educational operations at the Northwestern Medicine Proton Center, Warrenville Cancer Center, Delnor Cancer Center, and Kishwaukee Cancer Center. He treats a broad range of cancers, but specializes in the management of brain, skull base and spine tumors and sarcomas in adult and pediatric patients. He has expertise in the use of proton therapy, Gamma Knife stereotactic radiosurgery, intensity modulated radiotherapy, radiopharmaceutical therapy and stereotactic body radiotherapy. Dr. Gondi’s research focuses on protecting memory and thinking skills during brain radiation treatment. He helped develop techniques that avoid sensitive areas of the brain, like the part responsible for memory, and has studied new therapies that target tumors while reducing side effects. His contributions have improved how doctors treat patients and have earned recognition from leading medical organizations.
