5.0 star star star star starDr. Patil is very thorough and spends more time explaining condition, alternative treatments and their side effects and/or risks than any other doctor I've had at Northwestern, and all without using medical jargon.

5.0 star star star star starDr Patel had looked at my test results prior to my consultation. Asked me to describe how I was feeling? Gave me options how to proceed. Gave me a plan of action. Felt very confident that I had made the trip to Northwestern Hospital.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Patil was great. My wife and I met with him and liked him immediately. He is very knowledgeable, has a great sense of humor and we had a stellar visit. Dr. Patil gave us an overview of what the options were as far as dealing with my Afib. We learned that these options were not etched in stone but were flexible as time went on and my health might fluctuate. We peppered Dr. Patil with questions and we feel that he answered everything we asked in depth and understandably. At the end of the session we had (1) a going forward flexible plan to deal with my Afib and (2) the way to deal with upcoming procedures that would be impacted by the anticoagulant I am taking and (3) the ability to schedule a test for possible sleep apnea and (4) a way to possibly control the costs for an expensive anticoagulant prescription and (5) an appointment for a 6 month follow-up visit. All in all, a very good visit. I'm glad that we got too meet Dr. Patil and we both have complete confidence in his ability to provide care. Thank you!

5.0 star star star star starThis was the first time I met Dr Patil! He was terrific! He immediately put me at ease with his very warm and sincere demeanor. He provided a thorough yet understandable description of the issues I'm dealing with while also providing a summary of treatment options with the advantages/disadvantages of each! I felt very comfortable with him and confident going forward with his care.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
