5.0 star star star star starA true perfectionist, with the skill & experience to guide patients & achieve the best possible outcome. Honest & realistic, he spends a great deal of time to assess each situation, make suggestions & then follows through with attention to every possible detail

5.0 star star star star starHe has a staff Nurse, several Fellows. I have not seen him in few years. Although (nurse told me when asked over 30 Mohs a day. I remember how humble he is. While waiting Dr Alam awards maybe 32, and copies of his publications I could not count them all glass wood case. He is present and we could use humor hides my fear of outcome

4.0 star star star star star_borderThis would be 9-10 if it weren’t for the aforementioned issues. I was also told, “have you been here before? It’s like this a lot.” ?? I’m not exactly sure how to separate the Dr experience from the NW Derm experience. I can’t fully.

2.0 star star star_border star_border star_borderHe also referred to me as “a child” and when I said, “I’m 36,” his response was, “well you’re young enough to be my child.” I would prefer being treated like the adult that I am.

0.0 star_border star_border star_border star_border star_borderHe is unprofessional to book more patients than the staff or lab or rooms can handle He makes a lot of money while the patients wait for hours. Our time is worth something too. I am a consultant and I charge $100 a hour can I charge him back He might be the best in the Midwest but this was ridiculous And this is not the first time this has happened

5.0 star star star star starThe team seemed good. Will need to see how things turn out. He really only popped in briefly and had someone else do the procedure itself. I wasn’t expecting that. And then I was a bit frustrated that I wasn’t told in advance the limitations I would have after the procedure until it was already done. I had a vacation planned this weekend that included biking. Had o known I couldn’t ride a bike or do what I consider light exercise I would have rescheduled.

3.0 star star star star_border star_borderI’m confident Dr Alam has excellent clinical skill however I personally found him to be patronizing in his use of terms such as “young lady” or “honey” When I asked about how big the area was or how it would be closed he was very dismissive and told me “I would look as fabulous after I healed as I did when I walked in” I felt that I was never addressed directly by my name with much degree of mutual respect. I would not recommend against Dr Alam however I recognize his professionalism was not a good match to mine. I also had direct observation at my initial skin exam between him and the PA that did my first exam. She felt the area in question looked suspicious for basal cell and the tone in which he questioned her in my presence was uncomfortable but ultimately she was right and it was BCC.

5.0 star star star star starDr Alam brings a fun and educational energy to his visits. Even though he is busy but he genuinely takes interest in his patients. He explained the process well and made me feel important. Please send him my gratitude.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
