Dr. York is so pleasant and professional. He has such a great personality. He takes all the time necessary to review, and explain to the patient. Both Dr. York and his PA Matt, are very skilled and experts in their respective field. I only wished that i would have made an appointment to see Dr. York sooner. I was seen at Urgent Care and then by Dr. Thakkar's PA (February & March). An X Ray was done on my injury, read by NW Radiology, two docs, and they said no fracture. However, I have actually been walking on a broken heal for over 5 months. This was confirmed by Dr. York.

Very knowledgeable, took time to explain things to me thoroughly without being condescending, didn't dismiss my concerns, and didn't bad mouth the doctor I had gone to previously even though he had multiple reasons to.

Dr. York is very direct and explains his reasons for different ways of treating the ankle pain. His style of teaching is to use both verbal and visual ways of helping me to understand how I can make the treatment a success.

Initially, I was very hesitant regarding Big toe fusion. Reading everything on line, I had to make a decision: stay in pain, or, get the problem fixed surgically. My choice of many doctors was Dr. York. Best decision, ever! My surgery was seamless. Yes, I had minimal pain the night of surgery; however, I followed the guidelines that Dr. York and his surgical assistant, Matthew, gave to me. Following the directions at hand, I believe, helped me to feel confident that my outcome from this surgery would be successful.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
