5.0 star star star star starGreat explanations of the surgery procedure and recovery period in plain English, absolutely unexpectedly superb bedside manner for a surgeon, really bubbly confident and friendly personality that immediately puts you at ease. He also made sure I did not begin the surgery until he and his team had answered all my questions and addressed any of my concerns.

5.0 star star star star starI would give Dr. Mueller and [ ] a 20 If the scoring went that high. Great bedside manner. My confidence was established the moment he walked in the door. Everything was explained. He is the only person I would see again.

5.0 star star star star starIt was difficult to get an appointment with Dr. Mueller, but I'm glad we persevered. I had researched him and others suggested by my pcp and he was my first choice. He explained things well, inspired confidence, and I'm happy with the results. I liked that he was UIC trained and had done his residency at Northwestern, because I know both of these teaching and research hospitals well and respect both.

3.0 star star star star_border star_borderThe first time I met him, he did an amazing job explaining the details about my surgery. However, I never saw him after the surgery to share how the surgery went. He definitely can do better at checking at his patients after they come back from surgery. I was very anxious and nervous about this procedure and it would’ve make me feel better to hear that the surgery went well from the him. During the post appointment, he heard my concerns and I hope this can be improved for patients that come to his office in the future.

5.0 star star star star starOn my second visit (which was a year after my first visit) Dr. Mueller walked in to the exam room knowing my name, why I was there, my situation & what he was going to do for me! I was gobsmacked!!! This professionalism is what every doctor should strive to achieve & Dr. Mueller accomplishes it with ease & care. His surgical skills are outstanding & he goes above & beyond to accomplish a wonderful result.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderDid not even show any interest and attempt to listen to my surgical history. Because of my extensive and complicated surgical history, some of it @NM, he firmly had his mind made up, that there's nothing that is of his practice field, even though he is gastrointestinal surgeon and hernia expert....

5.0 star star star star starDr. Mueller was excellent!! He met me before my procedure, walked me through the steps, answered my questions, and even gave me his cell phone number in case I needed to get a hold of him after the surgery.

Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
