1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderTerrible bedside manner. Dr. Meza did not introduce himself when he came into the room, and secondly had his name tag flipped around so we couldn’t see his name. He didn’t listen very well to what I had to say about my health or current/past medications. For example he focused very highly on my last dose of Prednisone when in reality that was 5 years ago for a pneumonia diagnosis not asthma. He kept suggesting it was for asthma despite my previous statements. He also plainly listed out potential issues that could impact my health such as a narrow nasal canal (could impact my breathing? i’m not sure because he didn’t say) and a very fast heart rate but did not attempt to further discuss what could be the cause or effect of either. He was just very inattentive when it came to my symptoms and what I was saying to him and I do not feel satisfied with my care. Finally when we suggested transferring over my prior tests from Boston Children’s he stated I did not need them because he felt as if he “could live without them.†I personally think that is very unprofessional especially since those tests show that I do have severe asthma that has been controlled with several medications that were prescribed based on the diagnoses from these tests. He suggested I wean off my asthma medication without looking at my tests or reasons for prior prescriptions and I feel like he barely had a base for his suggestions. I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

5.0 star star star star starDoctor Meza listened to my symptoms that led me to his care, asking for details he considered relevant and explained the prognosis he got from our chat and what is in my health history in my chart. As my condition is considered very mild, he recommended what was best and asked to see me in 6 months to check on my condition. Everything was clear to me.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Meza was well prepared for our meeting. He took the time to discuss my case including my history through present time. Took action to arrange for x-rays and had me sign a form to release prior images from my present hospital. We scheduled a follow up appointment was told that he would call with x-ray results.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
