5.0 star star star star starDr. Alghafeer helped me deal with my psoriasis when the former treatment I had been using caused severe side effects. I was very despondent at not being able to get the injections and my skin was very bad when I first visited his office. He provided a medication that would safely work for me! I am forever grateful!

5.0 star star star star starThe doctor was very pleasant to work with and listened to my concerns, but I didn't like that he asked me what medications I was taking when I already addressed this prior to my visit (online), as well as on paper at the office prior to seeing him. I feel he should've looked at this and known what my medications were even if he wanted to verify them verbally with me during my visit. It is always a dissatisfier with any patient to be asked a question multiple times. I also have short-term memory issues after many years of migraine medication and I can't always come up with an answer very quickly so I was having trouble naming my medications to him fast enough, which made me feel "stupid" and made me feel as if he was irritated with me. I feel as if he wasn't prepared for my visit like he should've been.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
