5.0 star star star star starI saw Dr Hufmeyer today and she is a smart and caring doctor. I switched from Dr [last name] whom I started seeing since 2000. After she left I was so worried that I will not be able to find another doctor as good as her. Then I was assigned to Dr Hufmeyer and I found her to be an extra special doctor! I am so honored to be her patient and I totally trust her.

5.0 star star star star starHer presence was friendly and professional. She began our session with a question that went right to the heart of the matter. My blood pressure reading was high, and we pursued possibilities/concerns right away.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Hufmeyer literally saved my life! Under her persistent care, calling me until she reached me. I was preparing to instruct a class in Chicago when Dr Hufmeyer called around 6:00AM. She urged me to seek emergency care. I was determined to meet my responsibilities of the day until she revealed my life was at severe risk. My hemoglobin was below 5 units, results of the prior day blood test at NWM Chicago. I entered the NWM emergency room, leaning on a wall, about to faint due to my heart pounding, unable to take another step. The triage staff swooped me up, began 4 units of blood transfusions, 4"iron & 4 B12 infusions followed by a 6 day hospital stay. Dr Hufmeyer saved my life!

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
