At Northwestern Medicine, our patient’s feedback is important to us. While different care providers have their own unique strengths, we strive to be as transparent as possible with our quality of care.
Dr Hoyer was wonderful. I immediately felt comfortable with her. She was easy to talk to and very thorough in her questioning and especially her explanations of the condition and treatment. I felt good about her diagnosis. she was also right with the outcome of it as far as the meds kicking in.
This is the third location I have traveled to in order to have Dr Hoyer as my dermatologist. Some dermatologists I have seen in the past move through the visit so quickly there is very little chance for any real interaction. They are almost in and out of the door in a heartbeat. Dr Hoyer has always made me feel like she was attuned to me and my concerns.
Dr Hoyer is so caring and professional. She always asks about my kids and makes me feel comfortable. I love the fact she shares not only the Dr terminology regarding my skin issues, but also breaks in down so I understand. Having had precancerous spots removed, Dr Hoyer reminds me of the importance on caring for my skin with types of clothes and sunscreen. For upcoming biopsy's she errs on the side of caution due to my history. I trust her with my skin and what could be my life.
Dr. Hoyer knew what questions to ask and knew what skin condition I had, unlike previous dermatologists I had seen. She explained what was known about the condition and what treatments and care were recommended. She even praised me for the initiative I took to treat myself prior to her visit.
Didnt seem to care about my concerns. Blew off my questions saying it was a natural thing that would go away with time even though I have had it before and had good experiences elsewhere. Rushed me so I forgot to ask about one of the main reasons I made the appointment
Dr. Sheryl Hoyer is an excellent doctor. She has the perfect combination of patient compassion, communication and skills. She made me feel comfortable and made me feel that she was 100% focused on my needs. I didn't feel rushed like I do with some doctors.
I have been seeing Dr. Hoyer for over twenty years and have followed her when she moved her practice. In some ways, I owe her my life, as she was the one who finally diagnosed my having CTCL and started me on the path to successful treatment.
when I first saw Dr Hoyer, i came from another dr office who didn't explain my abnormal skin cells. she put my fears to rest as i had breast cancer and now i dont panic every time i have abnormal cells.
When Dr. Hoyer transferred facilities last year, my husband and I (both patients) followed her because of the confidence we have in her care. We also appreciate that she discusses our conditions with us and provides options.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr.Hoyer. I trust and appreciate her knowledge regarding my skin care. Even though I know she is busy, as most doctors, I never feel rushed when she is with me. She always asks about my family and remembers my grandchildren. I find that so warm and caring for the entire person. She listens to my concerns regarding my visit and tells me her thoughts and options regarding treatment. Together we make a choice. I always feel part of the decision but trust her to always do what is best for my health. if anyone I know ever needs a dermatologist, I am quick to pass along Dr. Hoyer's name and location.
I have been a patient of Dr. Hoyer for sometime now. Originally, saw her in Arlington Heights, then Glenview and followed her to this office in Grayslake (even though its a trip!) I have confidence in her care and expertise and like her calm manner.
It was my first time seeing Dr Hoyer. She excels at explaining what she is thinking, and at recommending a treatment option, while letting you know what the other options are. Very friendly and non-arrogant. Talks fast for time-efficiency, but not too fast to follow. Excellent.
I don't mind if there is some wait time before seeing a Dr. it means they are taking the time necessary with a patient that needs it and if I am that patient I don't want to feel rushed. Dr Hoyer does an excellent job of time allocation
