5.0 star star star star starAlthough one has to go through the seemingly now standard for NWH of seeing a PA, Resident/Intern and only a very brief time with the actual doctor, she was highly professional, confident and I was impressed with her expertise.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Thyparampil is the best! She explains conditions and necessary treatments clearly and helps me understand how surgery will be done and how recovery will likely be. She is so knowledgeable and this gives me complete confidence in putting my eye care in her hands. And she is so compassionate and caring which is very important to me.

5.0 star star star star starShe is exceptionally, almost uniquely competent in a medical specialty that requires something beyond intellectual and psychomotor skills. What she does so well requires those surgical skill sets, but it also requires the attributes of a gifted artist.

3.0 star star star star_border star_borderThe surgery went well, but I felt so rushed. I had so many post-op questions that I didn’t get a chance to ask. I had to wait an hour and a half after my surgery time and didn’t receive any printed out instructions or details. It felt very casual and like my time there didn’t matter. I also had some concerns with my pain and swelling so I sent two messages to my doctor and tried calling with high urgency. But I didn’t hear back all day and felt so clueless about what to do to feel better and heal.

5.0 star star star star starI very much appreciate the time she took with me to explain things carefully and be honest in her assessment, even though she knew I might not be going forward with her because she does not do one particular procedure

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
