5.0 star star star star starMark Smyth has been a great doctor to me! Very Knowledgeable… I like that he’s young & up on everything! Another doctor might have wanted to do surgery on my arm…but that would be the last thing he would to do??

5.0 star star star star starDr. Smyth listened to my issues and concerns, did a thorough exam and gave me all of the treatment options available to me. He was great! I also want to acknowledge Dr. Erica Yeo, the resident who was assisting Dr. Smyth. She was likewise professional and thorough. She was attentive to Dr. Smyth’s instructions and they seemed to have an excellent rapport. They both had great bedside manner!

5.0 star star star star starThere’s a calm professional approach with every visit. I tend to come in over worried with questions outside of the scheduled visit, but he always takes that extra moment to discuss in great detail where our treatment is at and where it’s heading for the best recovery possible.

5.0 star star star star starThe office staff greeted me promptly. The nurse who reviewed my history was efficient and extremely pleasant. The c-ray technician was very nice and actually spoke with me. The doctor took his time, answered all my questions and presented options.

5.0 star star star star starOngoing consultation with him. He took time with me at my first appointment and helped me make some choices rather than dictating to me as some doctors do. He has a wonderful bedside manner. I feel confident in his knowledge base and that he is not jumping immediately to surgery but choses to start out with the less aggressive approaches to see how it works.

5.0 star star star star starHe was very good in explaining to my husband and I what the problem was and how he intended to fix it surgically. Today follow up he spent time with us. Did not rush us. Answered all our questions and is taking a very conservative approach to my healing so that nothing disrupts the screws that are pining the hip together.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
