At Northwestern Medicine, our patient’s feedback is important to us. While different care providers have their own unique strengths, we strive to be as transparent as possible with our quality of care.
I chose Dr. Patel because during a recent illness I saw her for a sick visit. She was very thorough and caring. She also followed up with me after regarding labs and next steps and checked on me after the appointment. This made a huge impression on me and I switched to her as my primary physician because of her care of me during this time.
Both Dr Patel and the nurse were very friendly and receptive. Dr. Patel seems to be able to adjust her communication depending on the patient she is speaking to (i.e., I have a little medical background however she did not speak over my head; nor did insult my intelligence.) I had a question about a current Rx for vitamin D. She recommended a lower dosage on a daily basis vs a very high dosage 1x/wk. She explained studies suggest the body is able to better absorb the vitamin if taken at lower dosages and increased frequencies). It's nice to have an explanation as to why a physician has recommended changes to both my meds, vitamins and way of living.
We were very grateful that our first visit with Dr. Patel showed us a very concerned and compassionate doctor. She graciously answered all our questions and went to bat for us by calling other providers that would be able to help me with my medical problem. She assisted us in getting a an appointment with a specialist for the very next day. Dr. Patel even called me twice to assure me that appointments and other issues were being in the process of being resolved. Also, there was absolutely no wait for both office visits. She has acted in a timely manner to assist me with my medical needs. Many tests were ordered to start the inquiry process to assist in my diagnosis down the line. Thank you Dr. Patel for your care, concern and helpfulness.
