5.0 star star star star starMicky is my cheerleader! She knows when to push me a bit more than I would do if I were doing this alone. I owe all my progress to her astute attention. I am so grateful for this opportunity to get back to my "old self" again with her guidance during this healing process.

5.0 star star star star starI came to my first session of therapy for my healing knee fracture. I confessed that I had great anxiety as I feared my knee might crumble the second I put wgt on it (thanks to wellmeaning friends who with their advice completely destroyed my initial confidence.) Micky was not dismayed by my trepidation. She listened attentively and assured me I was at the right place to take my first steps as having read my medical report and Dr's notes, she, like Dr [name], saw no reason for my knee "to crumble"! She then did her careful measurements, explaining the reasons for it; asking questions as she showed me the at-home exercises I am expected to do to achieve healing, and by then I was won over by her positive belief in all she was demonstrating and teaching, that when, at the end, she asked if I was ready to take a few steps - I stood up and did - to my amazement! After which she showed me more exercises to do at home to strengthen my knee which I now felt more comfortable about because of having followed Micky's step-by-step careful instructions. I doubt you expected to read such details, but I just want you to know that had it not been for her capable knowledge and her patient ability to convince an old stubborn know-it-all like me, that if I apply myself and do my part at-home, together we will have a healing. She did not make any outlandish promises, of course, but told me exactly what I needed to hear today and restored my confidence. This young person is very mature and I think an asset to your team of professionals. I believe together we're going to get me back to my totally independent life sooner than anyone expects! Stay tuned! I am very gungho now about these next several weeks and looking forward to all my sessions under Micky's guidance.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
