5.0 star star star star starsmart, willing to talk to you and answer your questions.Gives you options. When you have a major illness, what you want from your doctor is in my opinion someone who is positive, gives you a plan and finally gives you hope. Dr. Meeks does all these things.

5.0 star star star star starPerformed a very delicate tumor removal without affecting surrounding area and with no complications. He was extremely thorough in making sure all affected areas were removed, which all post op tests verified. He explained every phase of my treatment, making it much less stressful.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Meeks has been a great doctor. He genuinely cares about his patients, he'll ask questions, listens and responds and includes his patients spouse/significant other in the conversation, goes over any or all test results/scans etc.

5.0 star star star star starI value Dr. Meeks' pragmatic approach - he's incredibly smart, spends the time necessary to explain where things stand and care and treatment to consider. I can tell he is always thinking ahead on behalf of patients with Plan A, B & C since as we know results are variable and many times unknown until faced with the data. I can also tell that he has great respect from not only his immediate team but the NM support team - admission staff, scheduling, nurses, PA's.

5.0 star star star star starVery kind, very caring.Explain everythat he was going to do. Sometimes you don't get a lot of bedside manners from doctor Or the time To explain everything and make the patient feel comfortable. He does all of that.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Meeks has provided great care and has made a tremendous difference in my quality of life. I first saw Dr. Meeks after relocating to Chicago from San Francisco in 2018. This was approximately 4 years after diagnosis and treatment of bladder cancer. The follow up care provided by Dr. Meeks ultimately led to very early detection and successful treatment of lung cancer. That alone would cause me to recommend him to anyone but his impact goes much further. A cancer diagnosis results in an emotional toll; even after successful treatment there is a tendency to 'look over one's shoulder' waiting to see if there will be recurrence. Additionally, coping with the many physical changes resulting from bladder cancer treatment cause extreme emotional distress. Dr. Meeks demenour, understanding, language and compassion has led to a great deal of emotional healing. I cannot overstate the positive change in my quality of life that his care has created.

5.0 star star star star starDoctor Meeks (urologist) has a great bed side manor but the doctors approach to the way he cared for me and my condition was quite impressive compared to the my previous Doctors. He really showed His experience without being dismissive. The Whole surgery team was also very polite and professional Thank you

5.0 star star star star starI believe the above 2 questions are tied together in that Dr. Meeks is a wonderful Doctor and Surgeon - very much patient focused which causes those that work with him to show the same care and attention that he shows which in turn makes the Urology dept. a very good caring Team. Dr. Meeks is a good listener and evaluates the situation based on the needs/wants of the patient with what needs to be done for the best outcome. Cancer is tough and sometimes you need a Doctor to think outside of the box to not only give you hope but maybe a better outcome.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
