5.0 star star star star starAttentive. Exquisite bedside manner. Very knowledgeable and communicated the procedure and after care well. He even brought out a model of a brain and showed me exactly where my tumor is located. I appreciated it very much!

4.0 star star star star star_borderHis bedside manner is non-existent. He did not explain my situation in a plain spoken way. I was repeatedly asked for my diagnosis when trying to schedule my appointment, which I repeatedly provided. When I saw Dr Chandler in the office that diagnosis was basically discounted with very little explanation. I felt chastised for waiting so long to be seen and for my use of prescribed pain medicine and anxiety medicine. It took one month to get an appointment with the doctor and had been relying on my referring doctor to prescribe me meds. All in all I just feel that there is a lack of empathy from the entire office staff. When you need to go to a neurosurgeon as a referral patient you may be worried about what is happening with your health and no one in that office seemed to understand that.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Chandler is amazing. He is Professional, Patient, and Kind. He took the time to answer All of my questions and asked me about all my neurological issues. He certainly is a valuable asset to anyone needing services from The Lou and Jean Malnati Brain Tumor Institute.

5.0 star star star star starDr. James P Chandler did the surgery on my nephew on [date]. I think he was the best surgeon to do it. He has followed up with us and is still working for my nephew to have the best care. He is getting better everyday. Thank You Dr Chandler

5.0 star star star star starHe gave me time to explain my quality of life issues, he waited for old MRI images to come through, and explained the present MRI images compared to old ones. He gave me solid information & a plan to proceed. I believed when he said my 2 lesions were benign, based on his experience.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
