5.0 star star star star starKarin is always attentive, empathetic, and patient. She explains things clearly, listens to me feedback, and provides options. She remembers me from visit to visit and provides reasonably personalized care.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Ulstrup is the only reason I purchase BCBS PPO rather than a less expensive plan through my employer (who is a competing research university/health system in Chicago). It is worth the extra expense in premiums and per-visit costs to be seen by a physician who is so thorough, professional, knowledgeable, empathetic, and personable. I have recommended her to multiple people and can't say enough good things about her. She is a wonderful doctor who truly listens to her patients.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Ulstrup must be the teacher of “good bedside manners.” She’s knowledgeable in her field but displays an ability to listen to her patients. I enjoy my visits with her and desire to please her by doing what’s necessary to stay in good health.

5.0 star star star star starSimply the brightest, kindest and most professional doctor I have known (and I have lived over 6 decades). I travel a long distance to have her as my primary care internist, and I would travel farther if necessary.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
