Application

The application for the class of 2027 is OPEN. The application deadline is February 28, 2026.

Supporting Documents

The following supporting documents should be submitted through the application portal, unless otherwise indicated. An application is not complete until ALL documents are received by the application deadline of February 28, 2026.

  • A personal statement: This statement must be 500 words or less. It should include your educational and career aspirations, challenges you faced in achieving a goal, or any personal attributes you believe will help you succeed in the program.
  • 1 recommendation using the Northwestern Medicine Recommendation Form
    • The reference must be academically or professionally related and be listed in the application portal. Each reference will receive an email with the required form to complete.
  • Technical Standards Acknowledgement
  • Official e-transcripts from all colleges and universities attended: The institutions must send these directly to the program manager at desiree.robledo@nm.org.
    • Note: If e-transcripts are not available from the institution, please request official transcripts to be mailed to: Histotechnology Program, 251 East Huron Street, Galter Pavilion 7-132J, Chicago, Illinois 60611
  • A full translation of your transcript(s) into U.S. equivalency if you completed courses or earned a degree at an institution outside of the U.S.
  • TOEFL iBT test results (if applicable) are required.
  • Application fee (non-refundable) of $25 to be paid via credit card through the online application portal.

*The program will not accept any remedial coursework for course credit.

You may submit an application before you complete the required prerequisites. If you are taking spring semester courses, the program must have a midterm grade by March 5. You must complete all prerequisite requirements by June 1.

You must be prepared to demonstrate evidence that you can meet all admissions criteria before you are offered admission. Until you complete application requirements, the program considers your acceptance conditional.
