Traumatic Injuries
Traumatic injuries are defined to be physical injuries of sudden onset and severity. They require immediate attention. Traumatic injuries can result from blunt force, a penetration of the skin or a burn and can occur during a motor collision, sporting event, fall, natural disaster and many other situations.
These injuries are commonly treated in hospital emergency departments and can range from minor to life-threatening. Traumatic injuries can affect the head/neck, face, thorax, abdomen/pelvis, extremities and skin.
