Overview

Trochanteric Bursitis

Trochanteric bursitis is inflammation of the bursa (fluid-filled sac near a joint) at the outside point of the hip. When this bursa becomes irritated or inflamed, it causes pain in the hip. This condition can occur if you injure the point of the hip or can result from play or work activities, incorrect posture, stress on the soft tissue, previous surgery, or other diseases or conditions.
