Research Studies

Northwestern Medicine Prentice Women’s Hospital is part of Northwestern Medicine’s academic medical center. We perform many types of research in an effort to find better ways to care for our patients. During your admission, you may qualify for a research study. A research team member may wish to discuss a study with you and ask whether you would like to participate.

Some studies just collect data that we can learn from, while others test a treatment approach that could benefit you. All clinical research trials have been reviewed and approved by the Northwestern University Institutional Review Board (IRB) to ensure patient safety. Consent forms describe any risks and benefits of participation. We encourage you to participate in a research study if you are asked to do so. If you are asked to join a study and have questions, please discuss them with your provider before consenting to participate.
