5.0 star star star star starDr. Abbas was professional, courteous, highly communicative and encouraged me to ask questions...all very positive traits. She diagnosed my issue, sent a prescription and helped me pursue an appointment with a specialist. I appreciated her prompt and helpful responses (via the NM app) to my ongoing questions/status, an impressive and unusual level of responsiveness, at least in my experience with other doctors. I feel very confident that my healthcare is in good hands with Dr. Abbas.

5.0 star star star star starShe’s a good listener, she’s honest, demonstrates compassion and offers hope when a situation is difficult. Moreover, she makes me feel empowered as a patient and upon leaving her office I walk away having questioned answered and a clear plan of action. She also good with follow up making sure recommended screening tests are met and providing results timely.

5.0 star star star star starShe's knowledgeable, empathic, very much involved in 'whole health.' She answers all questions patiently, explains everything, very communicative, and she's very easy to discuss concerns with. Her area of expertise lines up with my areas of concern so I think she's a great match for me.

5.0 star star star star starI found her to be thorough, caring, genuine, obviously smart and attentive. A doctor who listens and uses her knowledge to come up with solutions. Not likely to miss anything. I very much liked her.

5.0 star star star star starShe is very through, also. She is Caring, One visit my blood pressure was high and she asked me if I was concerned about something, I told her my close friend had open heart surgery. I was very worried about her. Today just about when my visit with her was over, she asked me about my friend. She wanted to know how she was. It really made my day, her asking. I told my friend my Dr. asked about her, and she replied, oh my how nice🙂

5.0 star star star star starDr. Abbas really took the time to listen to me, did a thorough examination, answered any questions I might have, and gave me a clear path of steps to take going forward despite my circumstances being a bit mystifying. She's the reason we go to NM Internal Medicine.

5.0 star star star star starThis was my first time meeting Dr Abbas and she was exceptionally understanding and non-judgemental, which is unfortunately not always the case in my experience as a gay person. She was knowledgeable, patient, and respectful.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
