5.0 star star star star starDr Kim is an excellent surgeon. I traveled from out of state to receive my care at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. My esophagectomy is a very complex surgery and I couldn't believe I was home in 3 days! The after care and support was great. I would recommend Dr Kim and Northwestern to anyone facing a surgery or health issue.

5.0 star star star star starHe listens and explains. He is realistic and honest. He leads a great team with a culture of caring for patients. Plus, he is just an amazing doctor--and not because he helped us beat [Patient Name] lung cancer. He gave us confidence and helped us believe that we could do more than we thought we could--hope and ability to influence our own lives--that is powerful stuff when a family is facing cancer.

5.0 star star star star starI cannot comment on this as I have not had my surgery yet but Dr Samuel Kim was extremely thorough talking to me and informing me about my upcoming surgery. I was very pleased with him and how he and Dr [full name], took a long time discussing the options I for my surgery and procedures that I will have. I was very appreciative of them and satisfied.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Kim and his team performed a 14 hour surgery on me and he personally checked in on me in my hospital room 12 days in a row while I was recovering. He is a confident surgeon who performs the most complex surgeries.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
