5.0 star star star star starDr. Resnick was present, listens and really took the time to ensure I understood my condition and treatment options. He didn’t try to speed up the appointment, he took all the time he thought I needed to feel comfortable.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Resnick was wonderful. He explained exactly what he was doing and why, inspiring calm and confidence in his expertise and then kept me relaxed and occupied during the procedure buy engaging me in conversation about myself and very responsive to my questions about him. It seemed to be a perfect combination for the medical professional: initially engaging your confidence in his expertise and then helping you to feel connected and cared about by another human being. I left feeling very positive about his experience.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderWhile Dr. Resnick appears to be caring and cordial when things go well, he was extraordinarily defensive when the vein procedure exacerbated my initial problems. Rather than offering ideas or possible paths forward, Dr. Resnick was only interested in communicating, over and over, that my issues were likely, not vascular. He was not willing to discuss or explore medical causes or possibilities outside the envelope of his specialty. Even if this wasn't a vascular problem, he never acknowledged the coincidental nature of the exacerbated problems nor showed any interest in using the Northwestern system to help me find an answer. In a teaching hospital, I would have expected more of an interest in getting at the root cause of my issues. The appointment ended with him giving me the names of two plastic surgeons with no explanation as to why that might be a viable path to a better outcome. Overall, my experience reflected a failure in true patient care.

3.0 star star star star_border star_borderI had an appointment with Dr Resnick but never saw him. I was informed that he wasn’t able to see me because he had other commitments and didn’t have the time to see me. The nurse rescheduled my appointment for more than a month later.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Resnick was wonderful. Went in unsure of my medical situation, left completely understanding my circumstances (including what was and what was not wrong with me, what tests needed to be performed, and what those tests would tell him about what kind of treatment I would need). He was compassionate, listened well, and I left feeling that I completely understood my medical situation.

4.0 star star star star star_borderHe seems like a wonderful doctor. Just didn’t get to spend much time with him. If I hadn’t asked to see him at the end of the visit, I think I would have had the whole appt without seeing a doctor. The PA was wonderful, but sill want to see a doctor at a visit, especially when I’m learning about a procedure. But really liked Dr Resnick and think he is great!

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
