5.0 star star star star starDr Mulcahy was very informative. Took time for me to think about what she was saying. Answered my questions. Gave me the information I needed to make a decision about my care that I was comfortable with.

5.0 star star star star starShe’s amazingly smart and is a straight shooter. : ). Dr. Mulcahy has always been direct and makes the plan of care straightforward with pros and cons and involves me in her decisions. I trust her completely.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Mulcahy is a brilliant doctor. She thoroughly explained my diagnosis, her recommended treatment plan, and even explained options that we would not pursue (and told me why). She is very generous with her time and spent as much time as needed to make us feel comfortable and informed about the treatment. She listened thoroughly and remembered me and my condition during follow-ups.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Mulcahy is excellent. She thoroughly explained my diagnosis, a variety of treatment options, and the reasons for her recommended course. I feel completely confident that I’m in good hands with her.

5.0 star star star star starShe set up my infusion cocktail, which so far is proving effective. Her team, after my insurance denied payment for Herceptin for my gallbladder cancer, obtained free Herceptin use for me from the manufacturer. Dr. Mulcahy communicates clearly and forthrightly.

5.0 star star star star starAs I have stated previously I find that Dr. Mulcahy focused on her patients. They are extremely busy and have tremendous responsibilities that would be daunting to the general population. Take time to thank your medical teams. Make it meaningful.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Mulcahy is on top of the latest research and focuses correctly on the most important factors for achieving the best possible results. She is very good at explaining complex treatment related questions despite the difficulty for a layperson to fully grasp the depth of her technical knowledge and treatment insights. Mary is completely present for her patients during consultations and has delivered an excellent outcome for me.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Mulcahy is one of the most compassionate doctors we have met. We have seen several doctors in the past 3 years and she is the only physician that asked my husband “what can I do to help you.†You have no idea how those words impacted my husband. For the first time in a very long time he felt hopeful.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Mulcahy outlined a course of treatment for me, which gave me confidence in her as well as the strategy for achieving the best outcome. She is very professional and yet personable. I am able to hold a great conversation in terms I understand about my situation, treatment plan, adjustments to my care, and next steps [I am not yet a healthcare professional but I feel like I am getting close after working hard to come up to speed about my conditions and the associated medical terminology :-) ] I really enjoy my visits with Dr. Mulcahy because she makes me feel like I’m her #1 patient (I’m sure others feel the same), and we have great and productive conversations about my situation and care plan. I know that I have a long way to go and I am glad to have Dr. Mulcahy with me on the journey.

5.0 star star star star starShe talked to me for awhile and answered all my questions and explained things to me. Unless you go through this you can’t understand what it means to have these types of people in your corner. It means a great deal

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
