5.0 star star star star starMargaret Finn my physical therapist is very good at what she does. She’s also caring and thoughtful about how she approaches me. She listens carefully to assess what I need and what my next step should be to improve my treatment therefore my condition.

5.0 star star star star starMargaret has been very good about working on figuring out what may (or may not) be causing my pain. In addition to asking questions, she has probed (pressed) parts of my spine to see where pressure may indicate the source of the pain. Also, when I first started seeing her, I explained that some of my previous PT at IL Bone & Joint Institute may have made some things worse, and showed her the printouts of their exercises. That has guided her in decisions about which exercises may help me. She’s also shown me computer images (anatomy drawings) of the specific muscles that are involved in my pain, so I have a better understanding of what’s going on.

5.0 star star star star starMaggie keeps my exercise program moving forward to keep my recovery progress improving. She encourages me to try new exercises and cautions me not to push too hard before my body is ready. I have complete confidence in Maggie.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
