4.0 star star star star star_borderI am a new patient to this facility/ northwestern. Very disappointed that I have had to wait AtLeast over 30 mins before doctor herring even comes into the room. (Only my 4th time going to the office, one time i waited over a hour)! It is very frustrating, unprofessional and annoying waiting at the doctors office MUCH longer then i should be. You have an appointment time for a reason. ( and it’s not like it has only happened once, it’s every time so far)…

5.0 star star star star starVery personable and fact based. I appreciated the care given, it felt like it was okay to be hopeful and okay to be sad with him. Which I am both while waiting for results. A purgatory which society treats me different in but he wanted to see if I could smile and see how leveled I could be. Both were a huge relief instead of always being met with sadness. He made my plate feel a little less heavy, like I was less of a burden.

5.0 star star star star starHe provides an opportunity to ask questions, listens to anything his patients need to say. Comes with a positive and friendly personality which makes for a very comfortable environment during what can sometimes be an uncomfortable situation.

5.0 star star star star starDoctor Hering did not make me feel rushed. Provided me ample time to ask questions and every time he gave me new information and opened the conversation up to allow me to ask more questions. He was patient, respectful and he made the appointment feel comfortable and I felt respected as a patient and a person.

5.0 star star star star starThe Dr. is amazing. Before he starts the exam he comes in and talks to you WHILE YOU ARE STILL DRESSED. Then you change into the gown and the exam happens. I find it comforting that he sees the need to make you feel like a person and wants all your concerns answered before your in a gown with your goods hanging out. After the exam he makes sure you are ok and says to reach out if you do not hear something within a certain amount of time. I have also sent a question through the app at night and had an answer in the morning.

4.0 star star star star star_borderFor majority of my apts he has been fairly personable and direct with myself and my husband with any questions we have. However, there was an instance in which he became combative with both my husband and I because we were dissatisfied with having had to wait 50mins for our apt to begin and being told "He'll be with you shortly, he's just running a little behind." He continuously stated that he doesn't like to keep people waiting yet no attempt was made to communicate with us how much longer we would be waiting, there was minimal accountability for this, nor is this the first occurrence.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
