Dr Ganger has kept me healthy for 15 years. He cares for his patients and is always interested in my wellbeing and personal life. It will be very difficult for me to see Dr Ganger leave Northwestern. He was not only my doctor, but a friend.

The reason for the score is quite simple. Dr. Ganger embodies the complementary attribute of character which I think provides unparalleled buoyancy to medical acumen. For me, having knowledge without character represents a sinking ship.

This is simple. Dr. Ganger saved my life. When he diagnosed me with cirrhosis of the liver 14 years ago, he tirelessly strove to inspire me to have hope for a transplant, and his staff to find that liver. About 2 years later, they were successful, and that liver transplant serves me well to this day. Dr. Ganger reminds me at each annual check-up that since I take good care of it, this new liver has no expiration date. I will be very sad to see him retire next year, but I wish him the best for a full and happy life beyond practicing medicine.
