I can only go by my own situation. This has seemingly gone sideways from the very beginning. While I like him and feel that he has remained involved in the process, I also feel a bit as though I am floundering now and potentially in real trouble.

He is the consummate medical professional. He provided his cell phone number, called me twice in response to test results, answered every question, asked for photos of incisions and made the needed RX contacts. He treats his clients as valued people and treats them as such. I have been to few if any doctors whose demeanor, actions and care equal his. Highest commendation to him.

The doctor is quite efficient and personable. I think it was a rather complicated situation, because they also had to accommodate my sciatica, which is giving me a great deal of discomfort. As for the surgery itself, I am not a medical person and so I don't know how to evaluate the process.

Dr. Woodard is a professional and competent surgeon. It does seem like he genuinely cares about the patient and their families; for that, I would recommend Dr. Woodard for general surgery. The post-op appointment did seem a little rush, though. But, the overall experience with surgery was a positive one.

I think he needs be on time for his appointments. He was 45 minutes late on my 1st followup and 35 minutes late for the 2nd one, and had to leave twice to check my medical information which he should have viewed prior or brought with him.

This doctor is extraordinary. I had no prior history with Dr. Woodard yet he got me on his schedule 1 week after our initial visit and gave us his personal cell phone number to use if I had any questions. Who does that? That was crazy awesome. He also has this charming down-to-earth demeanor which is helpful before a major surgery. I could go on and on but I suspect that there are 100's of patients with similar stories.

Dr. Woodard took the time to review my information thoroughly before he met with me, examined me and then explained thoroughly what he thought the situation was and the options for handling it. He took all aspects of my health into consideration and took the time to answer all my questions. He was very easy to talk to.

I almost expected that any doctor who was called to an unscheduled surgery late in the day on a Friday, was not going to be too thrilled. But Dr. Woodard came in and talked to me before the surgery, and he was so friendly and kind. He was also back early the next day to check on me.

Dr. Woodard made himself available for any questions I had before or following surgery which was a great comfort. He is clearly a surgeon who cares about his patients and someone who is worthy of their trust.

He has done surgery for me before with excellent results. He is clearly knowledgeable very informative and communicative. He takes an active interest in making sure I understand what is involved in the surgery and the recovery, too.

I moved here recently from St. Louis and had many doctors there that I trusted 100%. I had no knowledge or recommendations for a surgeon in Illinois. I was introduced to Dr. Woodard and from the beginning I had the same trust as in St. Louis

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
