5.0 star star star star starDr. Katia Fernandez listened to all my concerns. Very kind and patient. Explained things to me in a simple way, which I appreciated very much. Was able to address all that I asked about and offered test, blood draw, and vaccine to do during appointment. Received EKG and tetanus shot. Even offered blood draw (but I scheduled for next day due to fasting). Gave referral for services I asked about to improve health. Future appointment was easy to schedule. Was probably the best doctor's visit I've ever had. Felt taken care of and heard. Thank you. Exceeded my expectations.

5.0 star star star star starI finally found a doctor that listens and doesn't shrug my concerns off by stating that they are symptoms from being a tired single mother. The doctored listened and immediately ordered the lab work needed to be done to find out the cause. Thank you Dr. Fernandez, for listening and not treating me like all other doctors have done; like I don't know my own body nor what I'm talking about.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Fernandez is amazing and I hope this is a trend in medicine. She takes time to speak with me about my concerns, treatment plan, and options for care. The burden of practicing medicine is not on me, but she has a conversation about what is going on and takes time to speak with me about what I'm experiencing, what is typical for my body to feel and what I notice is not right. I just so appreciate that she spends time and not just rushing in, giving a quick check and rushing out.

5.0 star star star star starShe listened to all my weird health concerns and didn't dismiss any of them while also providing her expert opinion and necessary referrals. Just like all my Northwestern doctors, I felt like I was receiving the best care possible even for something as simple as a routine checkup.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderLooked at the clock multiple times. Seemed distracted and had a poor attitude. I was overjoyed I got a primary care doctor finally and she says to me that primary care doctors only do annual exams and vaccines, and everything else needs to go to my specialist. Meanwhile, I've spent the last six months being told by my specialists that I need a primary care doctor to manage my care because it's not their responsibility to be involved on a day-to-day basis. I’ve read NM’s principles and training on PCP and internal medicine services. She did not even remotely engage as she is supposed to.

5.0 star star star star starVery good doctor, she explained my illness very well, she gave me instructions on what I should eat to get better, she explained my medicines, very professional and, most importantly, she speaks Spanish so we understand each other better.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderI was debating giving feedback as i understand people have off days, but i was so disappointed. Dr. Didnt remember that I had seen her before, which is only concerning as she stated she looked at my chart before coming in. I understand things happen, but it was followed then with questions to me about when things took place (I didnt remember exact dates), while looking at my chart, very confusing instructions, and a question on if I typically got pap smears at my general appointments (which I have for the last 10 plus years). When I asked her about that she had to attempt twice to explain to me that because I was high risk they now will be with a specialist. I am totally fine with that, but it was alarming that someone would ask if I routinely got them done at my annual check ups when it has been that way for years. Very scattered when referring me on how another specific specialist would work, had to ask for clarification. Been with northwestern for over 10 years, had GREAT experiences and I was so disappointed with her overall attention and seemingly lack of care when it came to my medical history/simply my past visit. Did not explain to me why we wouldn't do a routine breast exam (I am sure its because of mammograms, but it would be great to know that). Had to remind her at the end of the appointment that I didn't feel well to ask about a minor cold I had. Don’t demand perfection at all but hands down worst experience I have had. Assuming it was an off day but figured the feedback was worth jotting down. Thank you,

2.0 star star star_border star_border star_borderNot a good fit for me- I won't be seeing her again. She didn't ask ANY follow up questions to further investigate the health concern I brought up and dismissed it since it isn't typical for someone my age. I'll keep looking for someone who trusts that I know my own body and takes my concerns seriously.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderShe was very nice, but when I mentioned multiple issues that I had come in to discuss, I was told to bring them up with my normal doctor. Not necessarily sure why she made this remark as I don’t currently have a follow up scheduled with my normal doctor at the time. Made me feel that my concerns weren’t being heard, as I felt multiple of my symptoms could be due to one thing but weren’t necessarily being taken into account. Focused a lot of questions on my diet, which I had mentioned multiple times that I’m eating healthier and did not believe it had anything to do with my issue. Wanted to get my blood taken again for a possible clotting issue that was brought up with Dr. Tatz and that was brushed off. Overall, not super thrilled, we talked for around 10-15 minutes total and I felt like I was being rushed and couldn’t voice my concerns, symptoms I mentioned were brushed off while things that I wasn’t concerned about (diet, exercise) were the main focus. I did end up receiving the test that I wanted but won’t be returning to her as a patient in the future.

3.0 star star star star_border star_borderI came prepared to my appointment with several talking points after waiting 4 months for an appointment. The provider told me to “pick one†because there wasn’t enough time during our appointment. How is the provider able to make a comprehensive diagnosis without all of the symptoms the patient has been experiencing?
